Day 8

PRAYER for TODAY
...love keeps no record of wrongs.
Have you ever said the Lord's prayer and quoted the words,
"forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us..."
What if God only forgave us to the degree in which we forgave others. I am so grateful He does not limit his forgiveness. I am so thankful that the Lord forgives and erases our slate clean, but it is hard for our human brains to be that forgiving. I don't believe true forgiveness is something we can ready on our own, especially when the world is telling us forgive, but never forget.
21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy times seven times. Matthew 18:21-22.

Pray today that you will be able to forgive those things your loved ones have done that hurt you. The things your spouse has done that keep floating back in the front of your mind, pray that you will be able to forgive as the Lord does, leaving a clean slate.
Pray today that your spouse will forgive the things you have done that hurt them, the things that are hard to forget and still hurt.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never Fails... 1 Cor 13:4-8a
