This is the blanket I helped the 8 year old make this summer. I wanted to share it with you.
(the placement of the animals was "intentionally unpredictable," which is how she decided to lay them out.)

We used two pieces of flannel to make the blanket.
I folded each edge of the blanked under, and sewed the edge with a large decorative stitch.
I threaded my machine with orange, and the bobbin with turquoise.
