Changing the lighting in your house can be the fastest way to update a room. It was one of the first things we did when we moved into our house. But even with bargain hunting, it wasn't cheap.
Well, this $7 fix may be all your house needs for totally updated lighting, and no electrical skills needed.

This DIY project is from my mom - the original DIY decorator in our family.
This Chandelier is hanging in the reading nook, off her kitchen. Her house was built in the late 90's when brass/gold fixtures were glamorous.
Now this light just looks out-dated.
Now this light just looks out-dated.
So she used a $7 Martha Stewart Living Metallic Paint in Cast Bronze to paint the light.
She did not prime the brass, but would recommend it if the piece is metal and would be handled frequently.
She only used 2 coats, which was about 1/10 of the jar - so you will have a lot left over for other projects.
It cleaned up easily and went on smoothly.
You certainly can't beat a $7 lighting upgrade.
